Q:Looking ahead to the future, what makes you most hopeful about the future of cleantech and its potential impact on the world?”
“I know it’s sometimes hard to look at the news and stay positive or optimistic, but I genuinely believe there is a lot of reason for optimism out there. One statistic that stood out to me recently is that, globally, 93% of new electricity generation capacity last year came from renewables. Incredible, right? Of course, that’s slightly different from actual energy generation, but that figure—93%—is a strong indication that renewables have essentially won the race. They are now the cheapest and cleanest option available. There’s really no debate anymore about where investments are heading—renewables are clearly the path forward.”
